Colt’s best known gun was the Single Action Army (SAA) which it tried to discontinue three times. This gun is the First Generation made before the switch to smokeless powder in 1956.
The SAA was the standard military revolver until 1892. Revolvers were often made to use the same ammunition as rifles to keep things simple. This gun is in caliber 32-20, which was the fourth most-popular caliber. A.K.A. “the Peacemaker.”
